How Does a Ductless Mini Split system Work?

Ductless air conditioners work with an indoor and outdoor unit. Copper tubing running through a small 3-4 inch opening in the wall or ceiling connects the indoor and outdoor units. Refrigerant is cycled through the lines from the outdoor condensing unit to the indoor unit, where the air is quietly distributed to the interior space.

Why are Ductless units the most efficient way to go?

  1. They cool only the areas you want and not the areas you don't want.

  2. Individual zoning at the push of a button, which puts you in total comfort control.

  3. Less than 5% cooling loss occurs in insulated refrigerant lines versus the up to 40% cooling loss through ducts.

  4. It only requires a 3 to 4" diameter hole in the outside wall, which means less mess, better home asthetics, and improved security.

  5. They add more value to your home and are more efficient, saving you money on your energy bill.
